D Varee and Marine Hotel
Both hotels are on Beach Road Jomtien. They are very close to each other within very easy walking distance.
As to the question of which hotel you should stay at, I think the answer is simple. You should stay at both hotels.
Start at the D Varee Hotel. The views are exactly what you want when you first arrive in Pattaya. The hotel also provides everything you want and what little they do not offer, can be found within 1 block in either direction.
The one big downside to the D Varee Hotel is that the rooms are a little “dated”. My hotel room was not as nice as I would have liked and felt about 20 years old in style. My bed was about a queen size but in reality was 2 twin beds pushed together and made to look like a queen bed.
Basically the room was serviceable.
Move to the Marine Hotel from D Varee when you are ready to be pampered. The Marine just makes you feel good all over. My bed was fantastic and I got a great night of sleep every night.
Breakfast each day was rather joyous. I enjoyed my food with turtles swimming next to me. Everything about the Marine Hotel is just wonderful. There is no view however.

The Marine Hotel Jomtien Pattaya
The Marine Hotel is on Beach Road Jomtien Pattaya very close to the D Varee Hotel.
The Marine Hotel was an absolute surprise to me. I have seen it many times from the road and never considered staying there. Frankly, from the outside it does not even look like a hotel. I assumed it was some sort of industrial or power building. It in no way looks like a hotel.
To my delight, this ended up being the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Pattaya. It is just epic in all ways, except there is no view. The hotel was so nice, I did not miss having a view.
The Marine Hotel was on the more expensive side. It defines itself as a boutique hotel. It is small, with a super friendly and informative staff and there are not many rooms.
While there is no view of the ocean, the room are incredibly nice. The hotel staff is wonderful. Breakfast buffet is included and was simply amazing. Every food item was high quality and beautifully served.
My stay was so nice, it was truly difficult to check out.

The D Varee Hotel Jomtien Pattaya
You will notice that none of the pictures of the D Varee Hotel show the inside of my room. That is because the room was rather small, very plain and no matter what I did I could not make it look good in a picture.
It is a dated, basic, plain room. The D Varee is really about three things: The view, the location and the breakfast buffet.
The D Varee is a great place to start your trip to Pattaya. It is affordable and I found my stay to be rather wonderful. The main downside to the D Varee Hotel are the room and the gym. The gym is, very basic and some what lacking in machines.
There are a fair number of small cafes within walking distance from the D Varee and stalls selling personal items you might need.

Both the D Varee Hotel and the Marine Hotel are well worth staying at, just for different reasons. I suggest Staying first at the D Varee as the views are breath taking and you will love waking up to a gorgeous sunrise every day and seeing a stunning sunset each night.
Also the D Varee is a big hotel and always has a wide variety of people staying there. It really feels like an international experience. Lastly, the breakfast buffet is really big with an enormous amount of different foods to enjoy.
The Marine is the Hotel to go to when you want to have the most relaxed, pleasant and quiet time in Jomtien. You will feel like you are the only guest in the hotel.
If you value a quiet, peaceful and luxurious stay, then this is the place for you. The breakfast buffet is just beautiful and an absolutely delight in all ways.
The D Varee Hotel is about half the price of the Marine Hotel.
My world travel adventure… is just me, with my camera, going wherever the road takes me. I always try to keep myself safe and to do few things that put me in danger.
It seems to me that the world is big enough that it holds a near endless number of places I can safely visit that are both wonderful and affordable.
Current destinations are Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
It was obvious to me that if I was going to take this adventure seriously, I should buy a real camera instead of using a phone. I bought a used Nikon D7100 for a very reasonable price and have been extremely happy.
Interestingly enough, having a real camera rather than using a cell phone has actually helped me on my trips. People see seem to have a different idea of who I am and what I am doing. Many people just assume I am a professional photographer. This has already opened up some doors, otherwise closed.
